Regulation in the international field outside the EU
The Professor Palou He has been President of the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESA) based in Madrid and Vice President of the Scientific Panel on Nutrition of the European Authority on Food Safety (European Food Safety Authority, EFSA) based in Parma (Italy) and the former Scientific Committee on Food of the European Commission (SCF, Scientific Committee on Food) based in Brussels (Belgium). Based on his experience, Professor Palou coordinates the Alimentómica group of scientific advisers.
Beyond the EFSA or the AESAN there are other regulatory agencies outside the European Union such as the "Food Standard Agency" of the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland), "Food Safety authority of Ireland" of Ireland, "Singapore Food Agency" of Singapore or the "Food and Drug Administration" of the United States.
Alimentómica, based on the procedures provided by these regulatory agencies, offers its services in:
- Initial evaluation of the product, overview of its possibilities in accordance with the corresponding regulation. This service includes an analysis of the available data of the product, based on which a report of strengths and weaknesses is made, and the additional studies that must be carried out will be indicated.
- Advice and guidance on the analyzes and studies necessary to make the request for evaluation to the corresponding regulatory agency.
- Preparation of the dossier (new food, “Generally Recognized as Safe”, etc.) to formalize your request.
- Support in administrative procedures, application submission.
- Continuous monitoring of the process.
- Preparation of bibliographic reviews or specific studies necessary to present the evaluation request.
